The heifer trade continues to be strong and the cows as they get older have seen quite a drop from the prices of only a couple of months of ago. The return of better quality has certainly contributed to the better trade as second and third quality milkers are not as brisk as have been. Top price of £2050 went to R. Makell and Partners for Gest Fannella 316, a 6+ per day heifer by Styche Rocco and out of Gest Fannella 278 VG85. Close at her heels were two quality commercial heifers from M. Jones, The Elms at £2020 each. A special entry of in calf cows and heifers from James Bros, Stackpole grabbed many bidders attention and sold to an average £990. Out of their calving pattern they presented a mix of quality, hardy British Friesian and Red and White Crossbred cows and heifers calving a month away. Top price was achieved of £1400 with 19 in all over £1000.
